Spirit of the Home

What is the tone of your home? No, I don't mean color scheme, (although I hope you have one!) but what I mean is, What is the spirit of your home? You may call it a vibe, or a feeling, but nonetheless, every home has one. While it thrills me to talk about design, coordinating colors, textiles, furniture styles, and such things that make for an aesthetically pleasing home, all of this is of little importance if the ' spirit ' of our home is not pleasing. This my friends, is our home's foundation. Everything begins with a foundation. Our wardrobe starts with foundation pieces. Our made-up faces start with an application of foundation. A building begins with a foundation, just as Christ is the foundation of our faith. So it is with our homes, and we ladies have the power to create it! It has always been this way. As it was in the beginning, with Adam and Eve, it took only the words of a woman to cause a man to rebel against the God he had intimately fellowshipped with. Scripture tells us in Genesis 3:17, "To Adam he [God] said, 'Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded, 'You must not eat of it'... " WHOA! this is the power we have! Oh, but what a responsibility we have. That we can influence another for good or evil, just with our words. If you have a husband, children, family member or other person who resides with you under the same roof, you are sure to have conflict, that is guaranteed. How we respond to those unpleasant times decides the spiritof our home. Choose a spirit of love, forgiveness and acceptance, and create a safe sanctuary, for all those who dwell to call 'home.'
