Working Replica of Noah's Ark in Schagen, Netherlands

A working replica of Noah's Ark in the Netherlands is a statement of faith in the literal truth of the Bible.

Built by Johan Huibers, this ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide.

Need some help picturing how large that really is?  It's 2/3 the length of a football field and it's as high as a three-story house

     Now that's big!

Seeing this replica ark helps visitors realize just how all of those animals fit on the original.  With life-sized models of various animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, bison, and more on this modern ark, it's easy to see that the account of Noah is no impossible fairy tale.

For the most part, Huibers worked on the ark himself, using modern tools. Eventually, they hope to include a petting zoo on the top deck.

The goal of this project is to stir up interest in the Bible in the Netherlands, where church attendance has dropped dramatically.  It is truly a monumental task for missions!

"Now that I am old and gray...give me the time to tell this new generation (and their children too) about all your mighty miracles." Psalm 71:18
