A New Take on Thoughtfulness

My Friend Debbie - A new take on thoughtfulness     When it comes to good manners. . .it’s all about thoughtfulness! When we pay special attention to the consideration of others, then everyone is blessed.

A few years ago, a friend of mine gave me such a neat idea for gift-giving to use throughout the year and I have really enjoyed it. First of all, she said, select a thoughtful token of appreciation that expresses just the right sentiment for the person you wish to receive the gift, making sure it matches the recipients taste and not just your own.

Next, make sure the gift is packaged and presented in the loveliest and most delightful way possible. The presentation of a gift can double the impact of the joy it brings. Use paper, cloth, tulle, ribbon or bows to create just the right expression of your thoughtfulness. Remember the use of color and style can send a vibrant message of cheer, whimsy or elegance.

Lastly, add the final touch of thoughtfulness. I was doing well, until this point, but so happy to hear the suggestion. My friend told me that she always includes a scripture verse on the gift tag attached to the present that symbolizes an association made with the gift and that person. For instance, when giving a pedicure set, you could include the scripture, “How beautiful are the feet of them who bring good news.”

This added addition of scripture was a new take on thoughtfulness for me and I have enjoyed including this idea often in my gift-giving routine.  I hope you will find that incorporating this idea will increase your joy and pleasure of gift giving throughout the year.
