Magnificent Massanutten

In your travels through life, invest in your friendships. "A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity." Friends are one of the most important ingredient in the recipe of life.

On a visit with our dear friends, Dick and Ann we celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary and we were invited by Dick and Ann to have dinner at the Army Navy Country club in Arlington, Va.

This was a special event for us all because we had dinner in the "Old" Army Navy Country Club, soon to be replaced by the currently under-construction "New" Army Navy Country Club.

We used our time share to visit the Massanutten Resort located in Virginia, nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Anytime is a good time to go to the mountains especially since our good friends, Vern and Connie went with us.

There were so many activities that were available to us, but on some occasions, enjoying the company of friends, the scenery, being overwhelmed by the beauty of nature while hiking and playing golf in a mountain setting is enough.

Yikes, is that the green, way down there?

From our deck, a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the larger Appalachian Mountains range, located in the eastern United States.  The Blue Ridge Mountains are noted for their bluish color when seen from a distance.

One or our activities was watching the deer from our deck that visited us every evening.
