Pralines



     My great-aunt loves to makes these delicious pralines for the family. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups of pecans
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Cool sugar, salt and milk until it comes to a rolling boil.
  2. Add butter.
  3. Let it remain on fire until butter has completely melted.
  4. Remove from fire and beat for a few minutes until it begins to thicken.
  5. Add vanilla and nuts.
  6. Drop by teaspoon on wax paper. If it gets too hard to drop, return to fire and re-melt.
