Pools of Love

Pools of Love Poem by Sylvia Hensel

Great pools of love formed at the foot of the cross

His blood soaked the earth as redemption drew nigh

Human anguish mixed with heavenly exaltation

As our Savior gave up His last vestige of humanity

Bloody, but not broken, as was prophesied

“It is finished,” sealed the end

His body then laid in a tomb

But death could not hold its prey

Heaven came down to claim its own

Death gave way to victory

As Jesus arose from the grave

Giving eternal hope for all to come
