Nag's Head's Easiest, Best Ever Clam Chowder



I love this delicious clam chowder recipe, given to me by my dear friend, Ann Hayes.  It's a little taste of life at the beach that you can enjoy all year!myFriendDebbie.com - Nags Head Clam Chowder

Ingredients:              

  • 1 46oz can clam juice
  • 1 51oz can chopped clams
  • 1 ½ bag Orida breakfast, cubed frozen potatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • ½ lb. bacon
  • 3 Tbs. thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon in large pot.
  2. Add chopped onions, sauté. 
  3. Add frozen potatoes and clam juice.
  4. Cook until potatoes have thawed.
  5. Add thyme. 
  6. Add chopped clams to mixture heat just until completely hot.  DO NOT OVERCOOK.
