Candace Gaines
My name is Candace Gaines. I was born a PK (preachers kid) and grew up in the sunflower state, Kansas City, Kansas. I am both a loving wife and mother of three Matthew (19), Faith (7), and Grace (7mo). My husband, Dennis, and I just recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary this year along with the birth of our beautiful baby girl, Grace Almez Gaines. I joined the U.S. Navy in 1991, and served as a Lieutenant. I spent my entire Navy career in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I decided to resign in 2004 to pursue higher education at Regent University. I am currently seeking joint degrees in Theology and Human Service Counseling. If all goes according to plan, I will graduate in May of 2010.
I have a passion for single mothers because I was a single mother for more than eight years. Having been a single mom, I understand the physical, financial, and emotional aspect of raising children alone. My goal and desire is to be fully used by the Lord to minister, serve, and empower single mothers and their children all over the world
