Heather Duncan

Heather Duncan

Heather was born, raised, and now presently resides in Virginia Beach, VA. She is 22 years old and was graciously saved at the tender age of 4. She recently graduated from Madison University with a Bachelor Degree in Communications, where she studied Information and Media Technologies and Journalism.

Her involvement with myfriendDebbie.com extends beyond penning articles to serving as the Team's Photographer and as one of the Graphic Designers in the production of the website.

Aside from her work with myfriendDebbie.com, she also diligently serves in her church offering herself to any ministry in which God has space available. She works with the children of her church in a Musical Education Club called “Patch the Pirate Club,” serves in her church's music ministry, including singing in the choir, as well as in a duet, the Alleluia Ladies - a 9-member ladies' group, as a soloist, and with an occasional Piano Trio for the Offertory. She also acts as one of the church's photographers for special events, makes all of her preacher's sermons available to the world through Apple's iTunes Store, and much more. Her work in her church is what keeps her going from day to day in conjunction with her complete and total dependence on God, without whom she would not have had any success.

Heather recently accepted a job as a Flight Attendant with U.S. Airways. Previously, Heather has spent the past three and a half years working with the Dragas Group, a local construction company. She is continuing her jobs as Office Manager and REALTOR® for the Dragas Group, acting as a remote contributor.

While much of her time is spent laboring over her ministries and career, much of her time is also spent indulging in one of her many passions. photography, technology, and music top the list of activities in which she chooses to engage her spare time with. The surrounding world is her canvas and her favorite thing to photograph. While praying one day for God to give her a simple daily reminder that He loves her and is thinking about her, He showed her a beautiful field overflowing with patches of full, bright yellow flowers. This now serves as her constant reminder and also as her most intimate, personal, and most commonly shot subject. Much of her time is also filled expanding and growing her personal relationship with the Lord. The highlight of her week has come to be Tuesday evenings when she participates in a Chruch-Wide Soulwinning Program, spending a few hours each week visiting nearby neighborhoods and sharing with everyone she meets the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Extremely excited and optimistic about her new commitments, Heather approaches writing in this endeavor will include spiritual meat for young, single women, as well as technical “HowTo's.” However, her main goal through this magazine orientation is to inspire young, single women to embrace themselves and all God has planned for them in their youth. “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, inconversation, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
