Kicking the Habit

My Friend Debbie     Several years ago, my husband quit smoking. He had tried to quit many times before, but was unsuccessful. This time he chose to use the patch and it seemed to be working well for him. That was good news since we were flying out to Missouri the next day to see his family. The first day we were there, he had an allergic reaction that forced him to go "cold turkey." That was a tough challenge for him, but an even bigger challenge for his mom, dad, and myself who all had to go on a five hour road trip the next day. He chewed gum, mints, and toothpicks all the way there and back. It was a rough trip, but God gave him the strength to overcome his addiction and grace to all of us passengers who rode silently in the car with him.
