Egg / Cheese Strata

This is a wonderful dish for a weekend brunch or anytime your family wants a nice warm meal. It’s easy to make and you probably have all the ingredients on hand already!

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • Dash dry mustard
  • 8 slices whole wheat (or sourdough) bread, sliced diagonally
  • Sliced cheddar cheese
  • Dash of salt and pepper

  1. Beat the butter, eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper together.
  2. Place a layer of bread slices in a greased 8x8 square pan.
  3. Then layer cheese, more bread, and more cheese.
  4. Finally, pour egg mixture over the entire layers.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
