Lord, Please Help Me Find My Medicine

I had just been to the pharmacy, to pick-up some medicine for my high blood pressure. They had given me a three-month supply of the medicine and because I didn’t need it right away, I just laid it down somewhere, without noticing where I had put it.

When I ran out of my medication, I started to look for the three-month supply I was given earlier. I knew that I had probably left it in my car, so I went out to look for it. I tore my car apart and I couldn’t find it anywhere. I searched my bedroom and the drawer in my bathroom, where I keep other medication. I looked through the kitchen, and then in the living room, where I sit most of the time. I took all the cushions off the sofa and chairs and found nothing. I couldn’t find it anywhere so I called my children and asked them if maybe by chance, I left my medicine at their house. No luck there either. I decided that it would show up sooner or later so I went on to other things.

After a while though, my high blood pressure started to be an issue. The extra strength Advil and 800 mg Motrin were not doing the job. I started to get headaches, so once again I began to search for the medicine. I looked in all the same places-- in the car and in the sofa. It still was nowhere to be found and I really needed it now. I was so irritated because I was going to have to get my prescription refilled and have to explain the fact that I had either lost or misplaced it.

This was upsetting to me because about two years prior, I had misplaced some medication and had to go to the base pharmacy and tell them. The lady who waited on me, made me feel real stupid and proceeded to say to me in a loud voice, “Do you know how much this medicine costs us?”

The next morning I woke up with a horrible headache and I couldn’t get out of bed without vomitting. So after getting sick, I got up and started to look once more for my medicine. I don’t know why, but for a third time I tore the house and sofa apart. Again, I had no luck. But this time—I had no other options and I was out of patience—so I started to pray.

I told God that I didn’t know where I had put my medicine and that I needed His help to find it. Like He didn’t know what was going on already.

I had to leave the house for a little while, and was gone long enough to get a terrible headache and head back home. As I got in the house, I sat down on the sofa. I got up to get some Motrin and sat at my computer to check my e-mail. After I was finished, I got up to sit on the sofa again to watch a show of television.

But this time--in the exact spot where I just got up from-- was my medicine!!

The bag was upright, just sitting there as pretty as you please.  I stopped and stood there looking at this package. I was feeling a little scared because I felt like someone was there for a few seconds but then the feeling changed to joy.

I had just had a wonderful and unexplainable thing happen to me! I knew it was God, but I couldn’t explain how it had physically had appeared.

I could just see God and His angels laughing at me saying, “Did you see the look on her face?” I grabbed the bag and started to thank God out loud for helping me find my medicine. All I had needed to do was ask.

Wow! What an awesome God. Then I got on the phone and called my children and friends to share my good news. I can’t wait to talk to the Lord someday, face to face, about this great encounter of the God-kind.
