Amy Turner

Amy Turner - myfriendDebbie.comAmy was born and raised in North Carolina. After graduating from high school, she attended Mount Olive College and then went to Appalachian State University to pursue a degree in Communications.

She graduated with a Broadcasting degree and then went on to receive her Master's degree in TV Journalism from Regent University.

During her time in graduate school she anchored, reported, and helped produce NewSight, a student newscast that aired nationally.

Amy worked at WCBI-TV in Columbus, MS as a NEWS ANCHOR for six years. During her time with the CBS affiliate she co-anchored the morning Sunrise show. She also produced, reported, and edited stories.

Amy did speaking engagements on behalf of the station, but also was asked to share her faith at school assemblies, camps, and churches.

Amy is married to Alan Turner, a youth pastor and teacher. They have three beautiful children - Chandler, Ethan, and Toby, and make their home in North Carolina. In the midst of the craziness, Amy finds comfort in knowing that she's not alone. She uses her sisters as a support team to get through some of the challenging times of being a mother. Amy's sister, Christy Biswell is also a writer for myfriendDebbie.com.

Being in the ministry, Amy and her family have learned more and more to trust the Lord in every situation. She says, "Sometimes we don't understand why we are going through difficult times, but God says 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not into your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.' We have to learn to trust God even when we don't understand everything and know that He has our best interest at heart."
